Think outside the frame. Much can be done to use the media to advocate for teacher librarians and school libraries which doesn't cost money. What are some ideas?
As individuals, we can all take a few moments to respond to current news events that relate to education and libraries. An emailed letter to the editor, or to shows like "sunrise", or even a call to talkback radio can only help to raise the profile of school libraries.
And local papers will happily feature school library events. For a change, actually get them to mention that the teacher librarian organized that author visit or reading challenge! Highlight the value of the TL role in literacy.
